Proenza for MAC?!

Yup! You totally read that correctly, Proenza Schouler has finally come out with a cosmetic line. I couldn't be any more excited than I already am (absolutely adore Proenza!- one designer is from Miami) and can't wait till I get my hands on a few items from this line. Out of all MAC collections this is the one I'm most excited about. I mean, I've been tracking the release of the line for months now when I initially read about it in one of my magazines. The line stands for everything that Proenza is about, fun and sophisticated. Pretty perfect for the summer this year.

The line debuted on Monday, April 21 for online purchasing only and released to the public in stores today. The lipsticks go for $22 and they come in 4 different shades. Also, the packaging is pretty amazing and a great addition to your makeup bag. Can't wait to play!

POP of Art!

So, I recently bought Bobbi Brown's new lip line called Art Stick. It's an enormous lip pencil that resembles somewhat of NARS lip pencils so naturally I needed to try these. I'm a huge fan of NARS lip pencils so when I heard Bobbi was introducing these to their line I went immediately and bought 2 to try them out.

Rose Brown by Bobbi Brown Art Stick
I opened the packaging and these bad boys are HUGE! And to my surprise they include a sharpener just as big as the pencil with every pencil you buy. I was quite surprised with the quality of Bobbi's lip pencils (I'm a huge fan of NARS lip pencils so I was skeptical I'll admit). They have a smooth semi-matte like texture but not drying in the least! They glide on smooth, don't bleed, and they're long lasting considering the texture. I was quite impressed. FYI: I pair it with a lip liner as it's my own personal preference to give it more structure. I bought the Rose Brown for an everyday wear and the Bright Raspberry which I adore at this moment!

Since it's been the winter, my lips haven't been taken care of like they should be so this pencil is actually heaven. So for those in the colder climates this lip is perfection. You can find these at any participating retail store for $26 a pop.  I found myself surprisingly very much loving these new lippies from Bobbi.  Please let me know how you like them!

Seductively Amazing

The Olsen twins have done it again! When I first read that the twins would be coming out with their own fragrance line under Elizabeth & James, I have to admit I was a bit excited. I've always been a fan of their products (does anyone remember their hair line?!) so naturally when I learned another product would be introduced I wanted it. They launched not one but two fragrances called "Nirvana." The bottle itself is everything. Elizabeth & James screams masculine and femininity all rolled into one so its only natural that the twins created a fragrance to display each of those qualities.

Say hello to Nirvana Black- Hi gorgeous.
I'm a fan of sandalwood in my perfumes so naturally my first choice was Nirvana Black. Nirvana Black smells of violet, sandalwood, and vanilla giving that sexual mysterious allure. The vanilla is not overpowering and sweet. It just literally screams sexy! I cannot get enough of this smell. This just may be my new favorite fragrance.  Plus, the bottle is just amazing.

The twin to this one is light and the complete opposite. Musky and floral, perfect for the Spring/ Summer. Nirvana White is like the 'good sister' compared to the Black. I'm not really a huge fan of floral scents because they tend to be too floral (think dead roses, yuck) but the White is completely different and I may just end up purchasing the White as a day fragrance.

The only place selling them is Sephora. Are you the "good sister' or the 'sexual mysterious' kind?

How gorgeous are they?!

Obsessed is an understatement!

Ok. I have been slacking on writing since I started this blog. So many things have been going on and I just haven't had time to write and tell you all the goodies I've gotten and absolutely fell in love with. One of them is NARS matte velvet lip pencils. I have been looking for an everyday lip wear, neutral based color, and I've finally found one it seems. I'm already an obsessed fan of NARS cosmetics simply because their pigmentation is phenomenal! Outremer, hello! Anyways, NARS velvet matte lip pencils are pretty amazing. They go on with ease, enriched in vitamin E, formulated with rich emollients (hence the ease of application). The color, as with all NARS, is long lasting, which I absolutely LOVE! As with all pencils, when you sharpen them you'll have some color that gets sharpened off. KEEP IT! Get a sample pot from a beauty counter and store the remains of the sharpened color and use a lip brush to apply. Get your money's worth! When reading reviews, I've read that some are complaining about the expense and the "waste" of the pencil when you have to sharpen. Yes, the pencils are kind of pricey. They run for $25 a pop but totally worth it!

My Sweet Savior

Ever since I moved from Miami to Washington, DC my hair has seriously taken a toll. Maybe it's the water in DC (which I've heard numerous of times!) or maybe it's the killer heat in DC. Whatever it is, it's done major damage! Since moving here to DC I learned that I can't wash my very fine hair everyday so I've discovered an amazing find to help me restore my dry hair.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Protein Pack is AMAZING! You can buy this in CVS, Walgreens, and Target for around $2 tops. Can't really beat the price. I was so amazed at how great this stuff was and how amazing my hair felt after. Not only was it silky but my dry ends looked fabulous. It has a very light coconut smell which last days after rinsing it out. Some people don't like the smell but honestly, I love it. Reminds me of home and being on the beach. Anyways, I usually leave this hair mask on overnight. I towel dry my hair slightly after shampooing and then I add the Palmer's pack. I mostly saturate my ends with this and lightly coat the rest of my hair. I don't use a lot on my upper hair because since I have very fine hair and hair masks usually tend to make my hair look flatter than usual. I love any type of volume I can get so no hair mask is taking away the little bit I do have. In the morning, rinse out with cold water and style as desired. The packaging sucks but you can't beat the price of this little gem. I've heard many people buy a bunch of packages and dispense them into a squeeze bottle- not a bad idea! Try this stuff! I swear you won't regret it!

Holy Grail

So, I'm a mascara JUNKIE! I usually mix two mascaras to get the effect I want for that "false lash look". I think I've tried almost every mascara on the market or I'm very much well on my way to have tried every single one out there. lol.  So I heard that Dior recently came out with a new mascara called Overhaul for their Iconic line and my best friend Travis brought me this little beauty to try out. I'm absolutely IN LOVE! Not only are my lashes soft to the touch, but they look so full! Perfect for the "false lash look" that I look for in a mascara. In one swipe! No clumping on the wand, smudge free, and its super easy to wipe off.  I think I may have found my HG of mascara. Dior is making this precious beauty in three colors: black, brown and blue and is going for a rough $28.50 a tube. Totally worth it. Another great find is Cle de Peau concealer. It comes with a hefty price of $70.00 for a mere concealer but it's seriously the best concealer I've ever used. Creamy but not too creamy where it'll smudge and crease after a days wear. It definitely stays put and gives perfect coverage. Whether you're using it for your dark circles or minor touch ups to hide those imperfections, Cle de Peau knew what they were doing when they designed this gem. Definitely ask for a sample of this  at the Cle de Peau counter and give it a try. I promise you won't regret it and you'll fall in love just like I did.
